Coinbase outlines AiFi stack with x402 payments, Agentic Market and Advisor

Coinbase has laid out what it describes as a full financial and payments infrastructure for AI agents. The company said AI agents can use "Coinbase for Agents" to research, make decisions and execute trades across crypto, equities and derivatives on its platform. It also said the setup can connect to Coinbase Advisor, which offers services including personalized investment guidance and tax-loss harvesting. On the payments side, Coinbase introduced x402, an open standard designed for agent-to-agent machine payments without human involvement. Those transactions are expected to settle mainly on Base. Coinbase added that, through Coinbase Business, merchants can accept payments from AI agents in USDC, while Agentic.Market will serve as a discovery and marketplace entry point for services that support x402 payments.
